Can anyone really believe that 2017 is over?!
It has been such a good year for me. After the craziest year of my life in 2016, I was happy to have a much more calm year this year. 2017 was fulfilling, I completed my first year of university with all A grades, which is such a huge accomplishment for me. I joined my university’s cheerleading club and snowsports club. This may not seem like much to most but was a big step for me. I made some unforgettable memories with my amazing friends and had my year brightened by my brilliant boyfriend who took me to my first ever festival. He supports me in everything I do and treats me like an absolute queen.
On a more professional note, I took the leap and started this blog. Read my introduction here! I also reached 5000 followers on Instagram and started a twitter for my blogger persona.
So it was a good year. But if all goes to plan, 2018 will be 100 times better!
Read at least 3 books
Okay so 3 books may seem like nothing but I am rubbish at reading. I read blogs and magazines but have always struggled with seeing a book through to the end. I would love to set a goal to read 10 but I know I won’t do it. The purpose of this goal is to improve my writing style, vocabulary and to help me disconnect from my phone more often.
Improve my vocabulary
I would really like to become more articulate and I think it would really help with essays and with this blog. I have downloaded some vocab apps for my phone, my favourite is “vocabulary builder” by Magoosh, and I’m hoping to become a master of words by 2019.
I freaking love meditating, I started doing it after I heard it can really help with anxiety. My anxiety has 100% gotten worse over the last year with my lack of basic routines. I use the “headspace” app and it is brilliant. I hope to get into the habit of meditating every day.
A little financial goal here, I would like to finish my second year of uni with £2000 set away. Which is going to be tough for a poor student with a passion for clothes, takeaways and wine.
Be Posting once a week here
Another tough one, I really love this blog but the consistency of my posts is getting me nowhere. I’d like to able to be comfortable posting once a week by the end of the year. This goal has steps for each month:
January- Post once
February-May Post twice/month
June-September- Post three times/month
September-December- Post four times/month
Reach 10K followers on Instagram and 1000 followers on Twitter
I have been Instagramming for YEARS now but have begun to make some serious progress this year. I’m currently sitting pretty at 5800, so I feel like this is achievable. I have pretty much just started with twitter but would like to focus on it some more to reach 1000 followers there.
Be more Social
This one is pretty ambiguous, but I would really like to make the most of my time at university. I have plans to go on trips with friends, go out more, host more parties and games nights. I want to spend more time with my darling flatmates since we are moving at the end of our second year. I want more adventures and after parties, more spontaneity and more fun. I love the people in my life to bits and want to spend more of it with them.
Finish Second Year of Uni with A’s and B’s
Along with all this other stuff, I would also like to carry on getting good grades. I think I can do this, with a bit of dedication.
So that’s it. Wish me luck with my goals and I hope that 2018 brings joy and productivity to you all.
